November 2026 close calendar: 19 business days, two holidays, four filing dates
Two holidays, a mid-month filing cluster, and a short 19-day month make November 2026 a calendar worth marking up early.
October's books open on Monday November 2, which is also the due date for the Q3 2026 Form 941 - the October 31 Saturday pushes it to that day. The fifth business day of the October close lands on Friday November 6, so the team is working a payroll filing and a close simultaneously in the first week.

Federal holidays per OPM; filing and deposit dates per IRS Publication 509 and the SEC's Form 10-Q and 10-K instructions; weekend due dates shown on the rolled business day. Confirm your own filer status and deposit schedule.
Veterans Day falls on Wednesday November 11. The Fed and most banks are closed; equity markets stay open. It splits the second full week of the month, which is worth flagging for any wire transfers or ACH settlements scheduled around that window. Thanksgiving lands on Thursday November 26, taking banks, markets, and the Fed all down together and effectively shortening the final week of the month to two working days.
The middle of the month carries the heavier filing load. Monday November 9 is the 10-Q deadline for large accelerated and accelerated filers - 40 days after the September 30 quarter end. Monday November 16 doubles up: the monthly payroll tax deposit for October liabilities (the 15th is a Sunday, so it rolls) falls on the same day as the 10-Q deadline for non-accelerated filers, whose 45-day window from September 30 lands on Saturday November 14 and rolls to Monday.
November 30 is a Monday, so the November close starts Tuesday December 1. The fifth business day of that close is Monday December 7. With Thanksgiving compressing the back half of November, any pre-close prep that can move into the week of November 16 probably should.
